Hooray for Fall and all of the fun activities that it ushers in. There is always something interesting to do in Houston and this weekend is no exception.
The Greek Festival begins today and continues through Sunday. It is held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church on Yoakum. Admission is $3. Info: The Original Greek Festival.
CityFest is a one time festival that will be in Houston this Saturday and Sunday. Organized by Evangelist Luis Palau this event will take place downtown in Eleanor Tinsley Park. There will be several different events including action sports demo (BMX, Motocross, Skateboarding), Kids and Sports Zones and several music performances including headliner Wynona Judd. The event is free, but parking costs will vary. Info: CityFest Houston
How about the grand daddy of festivals, The Texas Renaissance Festival. This will be its second weekend and it will continue until November 19th. I don't have to tell you that this festival is rife with photographic opportunities. There is a theme each weekend, so pick your theme, pack up the car and head out to Plantersville. Info: Texas Renaissance Festival
And last, but certainly not least, is this month's Greater Houston Preservation Alliance Tour of Beth Isreal Cemetery. The cemetery was established in 1844 and is the oldest Jewish Institution in Texas. One look at the photo on the GHPA Tour Page will give you an idea of the beauty and location. The tour is Sunday and tickets go on sale at 1:30 pm. The last tour group will leave at 2:10 pm. Tickets are $10 ($7 for GHPA members). Info: GHPA Tours
So let us know! What are YOU doing this weekend?
Let's hear your plans!
I will be going to a high school marching festival tomorrow morning, heading to the Orange Show to get some shots for Assignment: Houston and stopping by the Greek Festival for some shots and more importantly for some kourambiedes.
Sunday will be GHPA. Geez, how did the weekend get so busy.

I'm planning on hitting both the City Fest and the Greek Fest. Should be plenty of photo ops at both :)
Thanks for the suggestions!
